Local Government Minister Md Tajul Islam said that entrepreneurs are the keys to the country’s future economic progress. Entrepreneurs can establish the economic progress of Bangladesh under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on a strong foundation. Because entrepreneurs are not only self-sufficient but also create opportunities for ten people in the society to become self-sufficient.
Referring to the United States in this context, the minister said that the United States is leading the world today because of the entrepreneurs of companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Tesla. In order to occupy the seat of honor in the world economy, the entrepreneurs of the country must also work with new ideas and implement them properly.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at an event organized at Khamarbari Krishibid Institute Auditorium in the capital on Sunday (May 5) on the occasion of the sixth founding anniversary of the ‘Nijer Balar Nay Ekta Ghabi Foundation’ and the Entrepreneurship Conference and the famous Food and Product Fair of 64 Districts-2024.

Member of Parliament Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Barrister Syed Syedul Haque Sumon, Zara Mahbub and Chief of Economic Unit of the US Embassy in Dhaka Joseph Giblin, Chief Executive of Grameenphone Yasir Azman, Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh Sami Ahmed were present as special guests in the event.
Referring to the progress of Bangladesh in various economic indicators, the local government minister said that Bangladesh, which was once food deficient, is now self-sufficient in food under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. During the BNP era, electricity generation was only 1600 MW, now it is possible to deliver electricity to every house. The government has brought health care to the doorsteps of the marginalized people of the country through community clinics. We need to move forward economically to sustain various such initiatives.
