Own Correspondent: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP considers any democratic issue as a trap.
He made such remarks in a statement on Saturday night, condemning and protesting the ‘incoherent and unbridled misleading’ statements of BNP leaders.
In the statement, the general secretary of Awami League said, “BNP considers any democratic issue as a trap. In fact, because BNP does not believe in democracy, democratic customs, practices, rules and elections seem like a trap to them. That is why they are trying to present the ongoing upazila parishad election as light to the people.
“BNP leaders said to erase Ziaur Rahman’s name from history! At gunpoint the state is trying to convert a mass-occupied man into a BNP count. People have never accepted this blunder of BNP.”
Obaidul Quader said, “There is no question of erasing Ziaur Rahman’s name from history. True history will unfold in its glory. Ziaur Rahman will go down in history as a dictator who seized power illegally and killed democracy. Ziaur Rahman will be known to the Bengali nation as a military dictator.”
