Nazmul Hossain Shanto is now captaining Bangladesh in three formats. Shant’s journey as a captain is not very long but he wants to spread light in this field like batting. Shanto wants to capture the style of captaincy of Shakib and Dhoni in this process.

Recently, in an interview given to the popular cricket-based website Cricinfo, Shanto talked about his captaincy. Talking about Shakib at that time, Shanto said, ‘I like the captaincy of Shakib bhai. He takes very aggressive, bold decisions. I think it has also helped me as a captain so far. I succeeded in imitating him in many ways.’

Citing the example of Indian legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Tate said, ‘I also enjoy MS Dhoni’s captaincy. From what I see on TV, I see that he is very steady in difficult moments. I don’t know what goes on inside him. He made clear decisions. It may be right or wrong, but he does it calmly.’

Asked whether being the captain is an added pressure, Shanto said, ‘When I bat, I think only as a batsman. I don’t think I have to score all the runs because I am the captain. When I am fielding, I feel like a captain who will bowl at any given time. I have to deal with a lot off the field as well. I enjoy those responsibilities.’
