The chief advisor of the new interim government of Bangladesh is Professor Dr. Nobel Laureate Economist. Muhammad Yunus said, without the heroic sacrifice of those who gave their lives, courage and the exchange of uniting the entire country, this freedom would not have been possible. Realizing their aspirations for freedom, the fearless members of the army, navy and air force stood beside the people of the country and cheered this victory. He said these things in an immediate reaction after being sworn in on Thursday (August 8). At the same time, he said, all crimes will be prosecuted.

Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, ‘The conspirators have created anarchy and fear in the country to subvert this freedom at the moment of our second independence festival in the student uprising. A very brutal dictatorial government kept power axed by all these institutions. We will thwart his efforts and bring back the lost glory of the institutions. Those who have committed the crime in various attempts will be punished soon through legal process. The same applies to all ministries, organizations, educational institutions of the country. Crimes will be prosecuted everywhere.’

Dr. Yunus said, ‘On behalf of the nation, I request everyone to come forward with their own abilities in their workplaces without fear and joy. Our student martyrs have given their lives to ensure that all the people of the country are free and fearless today. The government created through this coup is the government of everyone in the country. Here everyone will have the right to fulfill their aspirations. Whoever the fumes of anarchy now spreads, the full might of the law and order forces of the free people, including the victorious student-mob, will thwart him. Gone are the brutal autocratic regimes. With the sunrise tomorrow, everyone will enjoy the close proximity of the government and the like-minded council, which is trying to provide everyone with the opportunity to live comfortably, for the full freedom of expression, fearless of the human rights of democracy and justice, regardless of party affiliation. That is our goal. Help us achieve this goal.’

‘The whole world is surprised and says, Sabas Bangladesh. Sabas Bangladesh student population’ referring to Dr. Yunus said, ‘We want to take this achievement much further. Nothing is impossible for our students. Our youth can make the impossible possible. They are committed to it. If we stay united and stay away from destructive activities and create a free environment for all, we will surely win. Allah Almighty is our helper.
