Chhatra League rally to demand the establishment of independent Palestine

Own Correspondent: Chhatra League has organized Palestinian flag hoisting, march and student assembly program in Dhaka University to demand the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. This program of a large number of leaders and activists demanded the trial of those accused of crimes against humanity in Palestine. Chhatra League leaders also criticized the US for supporting Israel in carrying out the aggression in Palestine.

Today Monday around 12:30 noon, Chhatra League marched out from Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University. The procession passed through Fuller Road and the central Shaheed Minar area and ended at Raju Bhaskar in TSC area. Then there was a rally. Before the rally, a large Palestinian flag was hoisted behind the Raju sculpture at the initiative of the Chhatra League.

In the gathering, BCL Central President Saddam Hussain said, those who are supporting Palestine with money and weapons, what an inevitable result of history, the students and youth of the United States are in favor of the freedom of Palestine. For this they are being tortured. Those who tout democracy and universal freedom of speech, who have tendered democracy for life, who speak of freedom of expression and assembly, have been unmasked today.

Saddam Hussain also said, ‘Those who are killing and destroying in Palestine are accused of crimes against humanity. They should be tried in the international court. We want to put the question to the world, when will it be called genocide? These crimes and atrocities must be brought to justice through global recognition of the brutal war crimes committed in Gaza immediately.’

Dhaka University Branch Chhatra League President Mazharul Kabir alleged in the rally that the United States and the United Nations are nakedly supporting oppression and destruction in Palestine. General Secretary Tanveer Hasan said that they will give a series of programs in favor of the demand for the independence of Palestine.

Two Palestinian students studying in Bangladesh also spoke at the Chhatra League rally. They are General Union of Palestinian Students in Bangladesh President and Fatah Movement Bangladesh General Secretary Badawi Ahmed and Fatah Movement Bangladesh organizer Ishaq Namoura. They thanked Bangladesh Government, Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chhatra League for standing by Palestine.

Central Chhatra League general secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan presided over the rally. Dhaka Metropolitan South Branch President Rajibul Islam and General Secretary Sajal Kundu, North President Riaz Mahmud and General Secretary Sagar Ahmed Shamim and Central Chhatra League International Affairs Secretary Aqib Mohammad Fuad also spoke.
