The third phase of voting in India’s 18th Lok Sabha elections has ended. Voting started at 7 am on Tuesday (May 7) and ended at 6 pm. On this day, voting was held in four constituencies of two districts in West Bengal – Malda North, Malda South, Jangipur and Murshidabad. The officials claimed that the elections were held peacefully except for some scattered disturbances in the third round of voting.
Among these four centers of West Bengal, the highest incidence of violence occurred in Malda North. However, in Murshidabad and Jangipur, although there was no major disturbance, there were allegations of fake votes, obstruction of voting, agents not being allowed to sit in several places.
