Culture Minister: ‘Let Hasina come, we want that’

Cultural Affairs Minister Advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury has hinted at taking strict legal action if ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returns to the country. He said, “We want Hasina to come.” She has been notified in writing for extradition. She has been sentenced to death in a couple of cases and many more are pending. If she returns, the law will take its own course.

He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the 1st Community Police Kabaddi Championship 2026 in Magura on Friday (October 2) morning.

He further said that the country was immersed in darkness for the last 18 years. The fascist government destroyed everything and embezzled lakhs and crores of taka. BNP leaders and activists did not flee from the fascists’ torture. Awami League leaders and activists fled to India with the money from bank looting. They are a fugitive force. BNP has never fled, BNP is not a fleeing party. BNP is ready on the streets.

The event, chaired by Police Superintendent Molla Azad Hossain, was attended by special guests Advocate Newaz Halima Arli, MP for reserved women’s seat, Magura Deputy Commissioner Md. Motakabbir Ahmed, District Council Administrator and Magura Community Police President Md. Ali Ahmed, Magura Community Police General Secretary and Municipal BNP President Masud Hasan Khan Kizil, among others.
