Hamas said talks on a ceasefire deal would resume next week. A Hamas statement said talks on a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release will resume next week. The delegation left Cairo this morning for consultations with the Hamas leadership. Negotiations and efforts to end the aggression in Gaza, the return of the displaced, and relief assistance for Gazans continue. Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said Israel had refused to commit to a ceasefire, return of displaced persons and troop withdrawal. He said, however, talks are ongoing and will resume next week. Earlier, senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri said that Israel failed to reach a ceasefire agreement mediated by Qatar and Egypt during the four-day talks held in Cairo.
