Israeli attack on school-hospital in Gaza
The Palestinian Authority in Gaza claimed that occupying Israeli forces attacked schools and hospitals there. Many women and children have died. However, Israel claims that Hassam’s command center was targeted.
Dozens of people were injured in the attack in Hassan Salema and Al-Nasser areas, Deutsche Welle reported, citing Palestinian state news agency and Hamas media. They claimed that there were refugees in both places.
The Israeli army acknowledged the attack and said that those areas were being used by terrorists.
They claimed there were two schools where Hamas hid its members. Here was their command center. Several countries, including the United States and Israel, have declared Hamas a terrorist organization.
However, it was not possible to independently verify the claims made by the Israeli forces.
Gaza health officials said five people were killed in the Israeli attack on the hospital premises.
They said that the refugees took shelter in tents in Al-Aqsa hospital premises. Israel attacked there. This causes a fire.
Palestinian health officials said 18 people were injured.
Israeli forces claimed that a terrorist was targeted. After the initial attack there was an explosion. It is understood that explosives were kept there.
Last June, the United Nations Office for Human Rights said Israel had targeted hospitals. It is against the laws of war.
The Israeli army claimed that they had attacked 50 terrorist targets in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has evacuated embassy staff from Beirut. The decision has been taken as the security situation is rapidly deteriorating.
The Foreign Office said the military, border guards and diplomats were being asked to help UK nationals return safely.
The UK Foreign Secretary has urged all nationals in Lebanon to return to Britain immediately.
Italy’s Foreign Minister Tajani said on Sunday that the foreign ministers of the G-7 group of countries appealed to the countries of the Middle East not to do anything that would increase tension in the region.
Italy’s foreign minister said, “We request all countries in the Middle East not to do anything that stands in the way of negotiations.”
The ministers demanded an immediate peace agreement between Israel and Gaza and the release of prisoners.
