‘Razakar’ slogans on Rokeya Hall girls’ faces, saddened: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, our goal is to implement the spirit of the liberation war. It is sad that the girls of Dhaka University’s Rokeya Hall are also chanting ‘Tara Razakar’ slogans. Do they know the history of A Hall at 71? What do the students know, what brutal torture was done by the Pakistani invaders if they were stopped! Dead bodies were lying on the streets at that time. These students have not seen them. What lessons did they learn… Actually, because they don’t know these things, the students are not ashamed to call themselves Razakars.

He said these things during the signing of the Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for the financial year 2024-25 in the Ministry/Department at Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday (July 15) at around 11:00 am and the annual performance agreement and integrity award ceremony.

Sheikh Hasina said that as we want to build a corruption-free society, officials should also look at this aspect. Where there is irregularity you will take appropriate action. The government is not condoning corruption to purify the society. Wherever it is, corruption is blamed on the government. But the anti-corruption campaign means the process will continue.

Officials should be kept under surveillance so that there is no corruption-irregularity in all the ministries. Good governance should be ensured, the country will go a long way if economic inequality can be eliminated. Annual Performance Agreement It builds trust among people along with dynamism in government work. Accountability can also be ensured. He also said that zero tolerance policy has been announced to fight corruption and it should be implemented.

The Prime Minister said, don’t act on what is written in the newspapers, don’t get nervous. Work with conscience and confidence. But find out whether the complaint is true or not. The Awami League government has reached its current position by playing soil-people politics.
