He made this statement in response to questions from journalists after participating virtually in the inauguration ceremony of the government’s three-month-long program to prevent dengue in Jhenaidah on Saturday (September 12) morning and an awareness rally.
Rashed Khan said, ‘In 1996, Jamaat-e-Islami, along with Awami League, staged a movement against the BNP government. This time too, Awami League is getting the courage to stage a movement because of Jamaat.’
He also said, ‘Jamaat may be behind the Awami League protest march against the ban on political activities in Gulshan. They are getting the courage to protest because of Jamaat.’
Rashed Khan said, ‘Jamaat leaders say they have no objection to Awami League returning to politics. But we want to say that the people of the country will no longer accept Awami League politics.’
Earlier, he participated in an awareness rally on dengue prevention organized by the district administration. District BNP President MA Majid, Vice President Munshi Kamal Azad Pannu, Anwarul Islam Badsha, Joint Secretary Abdul Majid Biswas, and leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations were also present.
