Goals in the first 30 matches in Serie A, Inter Milan’s record

The Serie A win is now only a matter of time for Inter Milan. The team moved 14 points clear of nearest rivals AC Milan after beating Empoli 2-0 at the San Siro last night. The teams have 8 more matches left in the season. Inter will win the 20th Serie A if they get 11 points in the last eight matches.

Inter has also reached a big record on the way to the latest victory. The 19-time league champions have scored in all 30 matches played in Serie A this season. Only one team in Serie A had previously scored in the first 30 matches of the season. That team was Juventus, Serie A’s most successful team, conceding goals in the first 30 matches of the 2013–14 season. No other team in Europe’s top five leagues has this feat.

Inter’s opponents, Empoli, had lost 1-0 in their last three matches. That team scored the first goal in five minutes last night. Federico Di Marco scored from Alessandro Bastoni’s cross. Despite showing dominance throughout the match, Inter had to wait until the 82nd minute to get the second goal. Alexis Sanchez, who came on as a substitute for Bastoni, scored that goal.

The Champions League is calling Bologna
For the first time in the UEFA Champions League, Bologna has made a little progress. The team beat Salernitana 3-0 yesterday. In this victory, after 30 matches, Bologna’s points are 57. Roma points 52 in tied matches. Roma had a goalless draw with Lecce in their last match.

Although not playing in the Champions League, Bologna had the opportunity to play once in the former European Cup. However, dust has accumulated in that memory. The seven-time Serie A champions last played in the European Cup after winning the league in the 1963-64 season.
