Inauguration of AFIP and Army Precinct Building in Dhaka Cantonment

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the newly constructed Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) and army premises in Dhaka Cantonment.

On Sunday (May 5), Hon’ble Prime Minister entered the AFIP building after cutting the ribbon and inspected the various facilities installed in the new building. AFIP Commandant Major General Dr. Nishat Zubaida highlighted the main features and facilities of the new building.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister inaugurated the AFIP and army premises building in Dhaka Cantonment.

In 2019, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the project titled ‘Expansion and Modernization of Armed Forces Institute of Pathology’ to meet the growing demand for pathology services. The project is being implemented ahead of schedule of December 2024.

The 14-storey AFIP building is equipped with modern laboratories where next-generation sequencing, automated pathogen detection systems, transmission electron microscopes and multi-headed microscopes have been installed to ensure international quality services.
