Nine High Court judges with permanent appointment took oath. This afternoon Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan read out their oath.
Supreme Court Registrar General Aziz Ahmad Bhuya conducted the oath taking ceremony. At that time, Supreme Court Appellate and High Court Judges, Acting Attorney General SM Munir, Supreme Court Bar Association Secretary Shah Manzrul Haque and various levels of Supreme Court Registry officials were present.
The President has today appointed 9 judges of the High Court Division who were appointed as additional judges two years ago as permanent. Besides, two persons who were appointed as Additional Judges of the High Court Division for two years at that time have been appointed as Additional Judges for another six months.
The Law Ministry has issued a separate notification in this regard today.
Earlier, on July 30, 2022, 11 additional judges appointed to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court took oath. 11 people are – Md. Shaukat Ali Chowdhury, Md. Atabullah, Biswajit Debnath, Md. Aminul Islam, Md. Ali Reza, Md. Bazlur Rahman, KM Imrul Kayesh, Fahmida Quader, Md. Bashir Ullah, SM Masud Hossain Dolan and AKM Rabiul Hasan.
After two years today on July 30, the President appointed 9 people as permanent judges. And the remaining two judges. Aminul Islam and Justice SM Masud appointed Hossain Dolan as Additional Justice for another six months.
According to the notification, the President has appointed 9 additional judges of the High Court Division as judges of the High Court Division in consultation with the Chief Justice by virtue of Article 95 of the Constitution. This appointment will be effective from the date of taking oath. Public relations officer of the Supreme Court. Regarding the other two, the notification said, the President has appointed two additional judges of the High Court Division as additional judges for another six months from July 31 in consultation with the Chief Justice under Article 98 of the Constitution.-Bass
