The fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government and the popular uprising created the new Bangladesh

Finally, Bangladesh entered a new chapter. The fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government and her resignation created a new history of popular uprising. From Monday (August 5) morning, people from all walks of life, including children, women, came down the road holding Bangladeshi flags. Meanwhile, the surroundings vibrated with the slogans of millions of people.

Victory cheers on the highway. People of various professions including children, women, elderly came down the road with the flag of Bangladesh in their hands. Although there were some obstacles in the morning, people started pouring in from the surrounding areas.

But this victory of man did not come in one day. Behind this is the long history of anti-discrimination student movement.

This history started with quota reform movement in Dhaka University. The ‘Bangla Blockade’ was announced in the first week of July. At first the movement was organized peacefully but later it turned into a clash.

After the killing of Abu Saeed in mid-July, protests spread across the country. More than two hundred people were killed across the country. The movement is on for the realization of 9-point demands. However, the arrests and torture continued and the students announced a one-point non-cooperation movement. The central Shaheed Minar became a sea of people.

Non-cooperation movement was called as the demands were not met. That’s the name of the flow of people in the capital. After that, the new history of people’s coup was written with the resignation of Sheikh Hasina.
