Pakistan carried out airstrikes in Helmand and Kunar provinces.

Pakistan has carried out fresh air strikes in Afghanistan’s Helmand and Kunar provinces, killing 22 armed militants in two separate attacks targeting terrorist hideouts, the Pakistani Information Ministry said.
Pakistan’s Information Ministry announced this information on Thursday (October 1) morning.
Earlier on Wednesday night, the Taliban government in Afghanistan said that nine people, including women and children, were killed and 11 others were injured in Pakistani airstrikes in the country’s Helmand and Kunar provinces.
Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the attacks took place late Wednesday night. In a post on social media, he said three houses were destroyed in Pakistani airstrikes in Helmand and Kunar.
Condemning the attack, he called it a crime against international law.
While there has been little major tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the past three months, the situation has deteriorated in the past two weeks, with Pakistan blaming the Taliban government for attacks by armed groups on multiple locations, including a mosque.
Islamabad alleges that Taliban-backed armed groups are using Afghan territory to launch attacks on Pakistan, but the Taliban government has denied such allegations.
Tensions between the two countries have increased since the mosque attack. Pakistan has already carried out at least two direct airstrikes on Afghan territory. However, international media outlets have been unable to independently verify conflicting reports from Afghanistan and Pakistan about casualties in recent attacks.
