For the first time in Pakistan’s history, the country has sent a satellite to the moon. China is assisting Pakistan in this lunar mission named iCube-Q. The satellite was successfully launched from China’s Hainan on Friday by the Chinese-made Chang’e-6 spacecraft. News media don’t.
The Pakistani satellite is being carried on the Chinese-made Long March-5 rocket for the lunar mission. The launch was broadcast live on the website of Pakistan’s Institute of Space Technology (IST) and on Chinese state television.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated the people and scientists of his country after the successful launch of the satellite. He said in a statement, iCube-Q mission is Pakistan’s first step. Pakistani scientists, engineers and skilled workers are proving their skills in nuclear technology as well.
IST core committee member Dr. Khurram Khurshid said the satellite will reach the moon’s orbit in five days. It will orbit the moon for the next three to six months. This mission is being carried out by China’s Long March-5 rocket.
