Trinamool from the center, BNP in despair

Own Correspondent:
BNP is one of the largest political parties in the country outside the state power for the longest time. The party that was born from power has been out of power for the past 18 years, causing frustration and instability among the leaders and activists of the Trinamool Party at all levels from the center. Many Trinamool leaders and activists from the top level of the party have left the country and migrated abroad. Many others have left party politics to escape the wrath of their government and to support business.

When BNP left power in 2006, Khaleda Zia was the top leader of the party. And the general secretary of the party was the late Khandkar Delwar Hossain. In 2011, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir became the Acting General Secretary of the party after the death of Khondkar Delwar Hossain. He was made the full general secretary in the 2016 party council. On the other hand, on February 8, 2018, senior vice chairman Tarek Rahman was made acting chairman on the night party chief Khaleda Zia went to jail. Since then, he has been serving as the head of the party in London.

The leaders of the party say that there has been no change in the top ranks of BNP during 18 years of being out of power. The top three leaders of the party are Khaleda Zia, Tariq Rahman and Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Alternatives to these three leaders have not been created in the party. In the last 18 years, the party council has been held only once in 2016. And in the last 8 years in the central committee of the party, some people have been promoted in various positions. However, there are councils in the district-upzilla committees and the affiliated organizations of the party. New leadership has arrived.
