US President Donald Trump said there had been “tremendous progress” in various areas since last week’s summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Anadolu Agency reported on Monday (September 28).
“Our country is winning,” Trump said while speaking to reporters on Marine One. Describing his long meeting with Xi Jinping as “incredible,” he said a lot of good things had happened in the last three days.
According to the White House, at the end of a three-day US visit, the two leaders agreed to build a strategic and stable relationship based on mutual respect, fairness, and mutual cooperation.
The meeting discussed a range of global issues, including Russia, North Korea and Iran. The two leaders agreed that Iran “will never be able to obtain a nuclear weapon” and that no country or organization will be allowed to impose tolls on international waterways.
Both countries agreed to establish a US-China Superintelligence Dialogue to discuss the risks and benefits of emerging technologies. At the same time, Trump expressed his support for trilateral arms control talks between the US, Russia and China.
