Saudi Arabia’s role in the Israel-Palestine issue is quite controversial. In the meantime, many people have been arrested in the country for posting anti-Israel posts on social media.
US media Bloomberg reported this news in a report on Thursday (May 2).
Among those arrested for expressing anti-Israel sentiments was a top company official. It is known that his company works on a project of Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
A source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the official had written on social media about the ongoing Hamas-Israeli war in Gaza.
Meanwhile, another person was arrested for calling for a boycott of US-owned companies’ products. Citizens of many Muslim countries around the world are seen boycotting the products of Israeli and American companies. Due to this many companies are forced to wind up their business.
A Saudi government source told Bloomberg that the men were arrested because of fears that a pro-Iranian influence could spread in Saudi Arabia.
However, it is not clear how many people have been arrested for their anti-Israel stance since the start of the war in Gaza.
